01 / Why now

Impersonation and fake promotions destroy trust.

KDP operates more than 125 owned, licensed, and partner brands across commerce, retail, advertising, and promotions. Every consumer touchpoint expands the surface attackers can copy beyond KDP’s control.

Historical public reporting, not Outtake findings

Dr Pepper scams keep changing channels. The trust they exploit stays the same.

The recurring car-wrap scheme moved from mail to text, email, forms, and messaging. The delivery changed. The counterfeit-check playbook survived.

2018

Counterfeit checks arrived by mail

Reports across several states described letters offering payment to place Dr Pepper advertising on personal vehicles. The enclosed checks were counterfeit, leaving recipients responsible when they bounced.

The same offer moved into texts and email

The brand impersonation shifted channels, but the mechanism stayed the same: deposit a check, then send money to a supposed wrap installer. A Dr Pepper senior manager again confirmed the company was not involved.

The car-wrap scam resurfaced again

A Springfield report documented a Dr Pepper-branded mailing with three counterfeit checks totaling $11,250, showing how a familiar scam can return years later with new delivery and payment tactics.

“We do not have a program offering to wrap cars in advertising graphics for any of our brands. Anyone sending these offers does not represent Dr Pepper Snapple Group or any of our brands and is most likely attempting a scam.”

03 / One digital risk protection platform

Outtake allows you to detect, investigate, connect, and dismantle brand abuse in one workflow.

Outtake turns isolated signals into an evidence-backed campaign view and a coordinated response across the providers involved.

01

Detect

Find lookalike domains, fake storefronts, paid shopping ads, and impersonating promotions.

02

Investigate

Collect store identity, registration, hosting, certificate, payment, and advertising evidence before pages change.

03

Correlate

Connect shared infrastructure, burst timing, naming, and delivery paths into one campaign view.

04

Dismantle

Coordinate action against the commerce, payment, registrar, DNS, and advertising dependencies the operation needs.

04 / Why Outtake

Built to dismantle the operation, not close one more brand-abuse ticket.

Outtake follows each signal into the campaign behind it, then turns every investigation and takedown into intelligence the next agent can use.

01

Search the whole external surface

Agentic search spans 100+ platforms, marketplaces, and dark web sources, so KDP is not waiting for a consumer report or a single-domain alert.

02

Investigate every signal autonomously

Outtake agents collect registration, hosting, certificate, payment, advertising, identity, and page evidence in parallel before the asset changes.

03

Build campaign memory

Shared infrastructure, naming, templates, delivery paths, and operator reuse become compounding intelligence that helps expose related assets and future activity.

04

Control the dismantlement workflow

KDP keeps control of policy and approvals while Outtake coordinates evidence and action across the providers attackers need to remain online.
